When Netherlands-based publishing house Brill decided its legacy communications platform wasn’t robust enough to support its employees around the world it chose Mitel to take it to the cloud.  Brill, a scientific and scholarly works publisher founded in 1683, knew the time had come to bring its communication systems into the 21st century.  “Our system was really dated and difficult to manage,” says Marcel Prins, Brill’s IT coordinator.

“With locations in several countries and people working from different places, we were looking for a communication platform that supports all our immediate needs, and gives us the flexibility to grow and change in the future.”

Brill replaced its legacy communication platform with the cloud-based Virtual Mitel Communications Director (vMCD) platform. Once fully implemented, the company’s teleworkers in Germany, Switzerland and the United States will be connected and integrated on a single system, centralizing and simplifying management and fostering more efficient communication and collaboration between employees in the head office, teleworkers and those working in the company’s international offices.

The new system, designed, implemented and managed by Mitel partner Detron, aims to unify and simplify every-day communications for the company’s 150 employees around the world, and significantly improve their ability to engage, support and connect with their customers and suppliers, regardless of location.  “The Mitel solution fits in our virtual strategy and will enable us to collaborate more efficiently regardless of location,” Prins said.
