Identity and access management (IAM) provider Aveksa, Inc., have partnered with GuidePoint Security, a cloud, mobile and application security provider. As part of this new partnership, GuidePoint Security will resell both Aveksa’s cloud-based and on-premise IAM solutions to its base of global customers. In addition, GuidePoint will provide valued-added services to ensure that customers get their IAM projects up and running quickly and that they receive the greatest value from those implementations.

Aveksa recently announced a number of cloud-related IAM offerings, including MyAccessLive, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Identity and Access Management solution. These offerings aim to unify the management of identities and access across internal and external environments, without compromising visibility and control.

“Enterprises that move applications and IT processes to cloud environments need to ensure that access to those environments is governed in the most secure manner possible,” said Andy Byron, vice president of worldwide sales, Aveksa. “Our partnership with GuidePoint Security enables us to significantly expand our reach to companies that are in need of Identity and Access Management solutions in cloud environments.”

CLO Inside Scoop: As more businesses and government entities take advantage of the economic and time-to-market benefits of cloud and SaaS applications, security and access-control issues are becoming more critical.  Indeed, while the cloud value proposition is clear in terms of cost savings, time to market and a wide range of other benefits, the need to protect – or restrict access to – critical data has made some organizations reluctant to take the plunge.  It is also difficult for cloud providers to create best-of-breed security solutions on their own.  Look for more cloud vendors to team with established security and IAM providers to bring comprehensive, yet flexible, solutions to the space.
